BOOks NOW OPEN --

when and how can i book an appointment?

  • My books ARE NOW OPEN TO NEW INQUIRES FROM NOW UNTIL MONDAY, JANUARY 13TH AT 11:55PM. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO SUBMIT AN INQUIRY AT YOUR CONVENIENCE UNTIL THEN

  • AFTER READING THROUGH THIS BOOKING INFO PAGE, PLEASE HEAD OVER TO THE BOOKING FORM PAGE TO FILL OUT AN INQUIRY

  • the submission form is not a waitlist but rather an opportunity to inquire for possible consultation and appointment(S)

  • i do not accept submissions on a first come first serve basis. submissions are selected based on what i feel will best suit my skill set and result in the best possible outcome for the project. my 3-4 month block fills up quickly and unfortunately i will not be able to take on every project that is offered.

  • if your project is selected, you will receive an email to book a consultation either in person (preferred) or over video chat if you will be traveling for the tattoo. i will also email you if i will not be able to take on your project this booking period. please allow for up to 2 weeks for a response

  • i find it works best for me to book out my schedule in about 4 month blocks at a time. i often have my books closed and open up my schedule to new inquiries at the end of each block.

  • to be notified on when my books will open next, please sign up for my booking newsletter and/or set up notifications on my instagram account

where are you located?

  • i am the owner of Sleepy reaper tattoo in Monona, Wisconsin right outside of madison.

  • please feel free to check out Sleepy Reaper’s instagram or website to see the other artists i work with and book an appointment with them

  • sleepyreapertattoo.com

  • IG: @sleepyreaperwi

WHat are your rates?

  • i charge a flat day rate of $1500/day (roughly 7 hours) or a flat half-day rate of $700 (roughly 3hrs). I find most of my Projects take at least one full day, if not several for large scale work

  • for an estimated cost on large scale coverage, i find that most arm sleeves take 4-5 sessions, leg sleeves take roughly 6-8 sessions, and torso pieces will range in time depending on size and coverage. i will be able to give you an approximate amount of time during the email and consultation process

  • i often like to book multiple session projects in back-to-back day blocks (I.e. for arm sleeves i often schedule 2 back-to-back days for the linework and layout, let that heal for 4-6 weeks, and then another 2-3 back-to-back days to complete shading/detailing of the piece). we can talk more about scheduling and options during the consultation.

  • i do require a deposit in order to lock in the appointment that can be left during/at the end of the consultation process. The deposit will be $200/day based on the total estimated number of days that it will take to complete the project. the deposit will come off of the final price/final session of the project.

  • the deposit is non-refundable and will be lost in the event of a cancellation or reschedule within 72 hours of the appointment and a new one will need to be left in order to reschedule

what do you like to tattoo?

  • i am interested in expanding my large scale geometric/ornamental work both as stand-alone geometric projects and as geometric work incorporated with certain subject matter

  • for specific subject matter incorporated with geometric work, i am a fan of the dark and macabre such as skulls, animals, insects, demons, different cultural masks and relics, etc. i am also open to incorporating other subject matter as long as i feel it will compliment my artistic style and geometric partnership well

  • i am also a fan of stand alone Geometric/ornamental work without subject matter especially done in a bold/high contrast/slightly aggressive style.

  • i am always a fan of working on an arm sleeve or a leg sleeve and am very interested in other large scale areas of the body including full chest, full back, or full frontal (chest and stomach)

will i get to see the design before it is tattooed?

  • i do not send out designs or a sketch ahead of time. instead, i view the booking form and consultation as your opportunity to express all of your wishes and requirements for the piece that i will combine with my artistic input and experience to come up with a unique design customized to you

  • for most pieces, when you come into the shop on the day of the appointment, i will have a finalized draft of the design to show you (often mocked up onto pictures of your body or a body template). i am open to talking about any concerns or minor adjustments to the design at that point

  • ultimately i do request a lot of trust from my clientele and feel that i do my best work when i can be creative with the projects presented to me. i view my tattoo process as commissioning a piece of original and uniquely customized artwork as opposed to a fill-in-the-blank completely customizable order

DO you do cover ups or work around existing tattoos?

  • i am not a fan of working with cover ups. i may consider a small cover up as long as it is apart of a large scale coverage piece but it is a case by case basis

  • in general, i do prefer to work with open skin without existing tattoos but i will be willing to add onto or work around an existing piece you have if i feel that i can adequately compliment the existing tattoo and the way it interacts with your body

DO you do color tattoos?

  • currently i am not taking on any color projects and prefer to work on black and grey/dotwork projects

What should i bring to my tattoo appointment?

  • please bring a state issued I.d.

  • please wear clothing that will allow for easy access to the area you are having tattooed. please bring layers or a possible blanket (it is not ideal but any clothing or blanket may be susceptible to tattoo ink, stencil ink, or blood so please keep that in mind when choosing outfit)

  • if this will be your last or only appointment for this project, please wear or bring a mostly black, mostly white, or minimally patterned outfit as i find it often looks the best and least distracting in photos

  • i recommend bringing a water bottle and possibly a sugary beverage

  • i will likely take a break early in the day to eat a small lunch or snack. please feel free to bring your own lunch or snack to eat during the day or you are also welcome to order any delivery food to the shop during the appointment

  • large scale tattooing takes time and it can be quite boring. please feel free to bring anything to keep you occupied during the tattoo (i.e. cell phone, book, headphones, podcasts, etc.)

  • You do not need to bring this to you appointment but feel free to check out my aftercare page on my website to get an idea of what will be expected and some recommended products to use. It may not be a bad idea to pick up or order these products before your appointment so you do not need to go to the store directly after the tattoo

do you allow me to bring a friend/partner/child to the appointment?

  • children are not permitted into the tattoo shop, especially if they are young and will need attention during the tattoo

  • it is okay to bring a friend or partner to the appointment but i do not suggest they plan to be at the appointment the whole time. large scale tattooing takes time and they will be bored
